The Dragon’s Breath Flightline is Haiti’s newest outdoor adventure. The 2,633 foot cable zip line allows users to take in the aerial views of Labadee’s coral reefs and amazing blue water. The video above is a depiction of what it feels like to travel down the zip line. When visiting Labadee there are several new attractions including the Dragon’s Plaza and Labadee Town Square. Both of these locations are great places for guests enjoy Haitian culture while also visiting shops and cultural shows.

Also in Labadee is the Dragon’s Tail Coaster which offers a high speed ride through 2,232 feet of rock formations and tropical flora. Make sure to hold on tight as this ride can reach high speeds that are not suitable for anyone with heart problems. All of these outdoor options are available with through Royal Carribean as Labadee is one of their many private beach destinations. Most of the enhancements to this destination have been done since 2007 so you are going to see the most up-to-date outdoor attractions and adventures.

Another option for an outdoor zip line adventure is “The Extreme” in St. Maarten. This 930 foot cable zip line suspends you 120 feet in the air with some amazing views of St. Maarten. Visits to St. Maarten can also be done through Royal Carribean but make sure to do your research online for any other options that may be available.

Zip lining is an activity that involves a pulley suspended on a cable that is mounted at an incline. The design enables users to gain speed as they slide down the cable on the pulley. Some pulleys attach your full body while others are just handlebars that the user must hold on to. The length of the pulley can vary greatly. Some zip lines are very short in length while others could be miles in length. Most zip line adventures take place in mountain regions.

Zip lining gained popularity in jungle regions and especially so in Hawaii. There are now many mountain destinations that offer zip lining. There are also many college and university outdoor centers that offer zip lining courses and events. If you have the desire to try a zip lining adventure you will probably not have to look very far as parks and recreation departments are building zip lining courses in metropolitan areas.

Please understand that zip lining is an activity that requires a helmet and you should be extremely cautious. The amount of injuries that have occurred from zip lining is not excessive but the possibility of injury is there. If you are afraid of heights or high speed activities then zip lining might not want to be an activity you try. If you are quite adventurous and want a unique outdoor activity do your research on zip lining.
