June is a wonderful month for rafting on the Nantahala River.  The days are getting hotter, but the refreshing waters of the Nantahala are welcoming anytime of day.  Eight miles of rafting on a winding river of combined fast water and slow water are perfect for experienced paddlers and first-timers alike.

Many rafting companies cart families and up and down the river road all month so anytime is a great time to come and visit the Nantahala Gorge.  There is an outfitter for any occasion and every type of rafter, like Brookside Campground and Rafting (1-800-848-RAFT), which has been in business since 1982.

Campsites, hiking trials, fishing, and even zip-line tours are available in the Nantahala area, so there is plenty to do after finishing a rafting trip.  Plan a trip or just visit for the day for a great whitewater experience.
