There are many other outdoor activities in and around the Asheville area so if you are planning a vacation keeping yourself busy should not be difficult. Some outdoor activities include whitewater rafting, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, sightseeing and camping. By doing some research on each of these activities you are likely to find many opportunities for you and your family. One of the main attractions of the area during this time of year is skiing and the slopes are open very early this year so you might want to look into taking a skiing trip early in the ski season.
